Bacon. Without doubt. Nothing beats a good bacon sandwich. Or sandwiches that involve bacon, such as the good old BLT, which is more lunch-friendly, or the brie and bacon sandwich, beloved of station cafeterias.
Should bacon or the means of cooking bacon be unavailable, it’s hard to beat a hard-boiled egg sandwich with salad cream.
